For the BBC’s BAFTA-winning series starring Sean Bean, Sense of Sound provided backing vocals on the powerful closing theme.
Broken is a BAFTA-award winning series produced by the BBC and LA Productions starring Sean Bean.
Sense of Sound provided backing vocals on the closing soundtrack, written and performed by Ray Davies (The Kinks), providing emotional depth and texture that reflects the topics of community and collaboration portrayed in the series.
15 years on from his death, Anthony Walker’s story was told by the BBC as a BAFTA-nominated film.
Anthony (2020), written by
BAFTA-winning screenwriter, Jimmy McGovern, engages with topics of race, longing, and loss. Sense of Sound performed throughout the film at pivotal moments to depict the joy of moments that Anthony himself never lived to see, including this scene with Rakie Ayola who won the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film.
KOJ’s fusion of R&B, hip-hop, soul, and reggae creates a sound as authentic as the story behind it.
When we were approached to arrange a five-part choral piece, record in studio, and perform in the music video for VILLAIN WITH A CONSCIENCE, the team tackled the project with creativity and vigour. The result is a haunting yet deeply emotive collaboration that brings the record’s message to life.

Sense of Sound (12 piece) appeared live on BBC Breakfast as part of the BBC’s Liverpool Eurovision programming. Performing as the Eurotopia Choir in collaboration with Stealing Sheep and Natalie McCool, they delivered a rich, layered performance that brought the spirit of Eurovision to life.

Blossoms
Manchester-based rock band Blossoms approached us to recruit and supply vocalists for a track on their 2018 album Cool Like You, recognising Jennifer John’s arranging skills and creative direction.
For this project, Sense of Sound (20 piece) performed the track’s arrangement over two studio sessions, resulting in a performance played over 55 million times across streaming platforms.

Duo-Tone Music
Show Me marks our second collaboration with deep-house DJ group Duo-Tone, following their hit Time and Time Again, which spent four weeks at No. 4 in the Upfront Top 30.
For this track, Jennifer John brought together an intimate collective of singers to add rich ambience and texture, while our lead vocalist Amber Kuti wrote and performed the track, giving it its unforgettable, driving energy and distinctive sound.

Jamie Webster
Jamie wanted to create a choral arrangement for his hit single This Place (2022), a track that captured the heart and soul of Liverpool - Sense of Sound (30 piece) added a grounded, human element to the track.
In a 2024 interview, Webster revealed that he was moved to tears upon hearing Jennifer John’s arrangement for the first time. He has credited working with Jennifer John and Sense of Sound as a key factor in deepening his connection with his fans.
ITV & The National Lottery
The Big Eurovision Welcome
2023
Sense of Sound appeared as a featured choir on ITV’s National Lottery programme, performing as part of Liverpool Culture Company’s Opening and Closing Ceremonies for Eurovision 2023.
The broadcast celebrated Liverpool’s musical heritage and the cultural partnership between Liverpool, Ukraine, and Eurovision, marking the city’s role as Host City for the 2023 contest. Filmed at St George’s Hall, the programme transformed the city into a large-scale public celebration.
The show was broadcast live to an audience of 162 million, achieving record-breaking online engagement.
Lime Pictures
Hollyoaks
2025
Sense of Sound (6 piece) collaborated with Lime Pictures for a second time on Hollyoaks, following our initial work on set in 2022.
For this production, we provided a traditional Christmas carolling choir, performing a cappella in four-part harmony across three days of filming. The choir provided live vocal performance on set, supporting the narrative and seasonal atmosphere of the televised episode.

Unity Theatre
The Colour of Light
2020
For this project, Sense of Sound (7 piece) performed in the Colour of Light, a new musical by Anne Taft. As the voices of the Muses, they guided and supported the narrative journey of mother and daughter through life’s dramatic and emotional moments.
