Enormous Vocal Ensemble
Discover the Vision.
Enormous Vocal Ensemble exists to demonstrate the positive effects of collective singing. As human beings, we are social creatures. We thrive when we work together. The purpose of EVE is to demonstrate the importance of individual voices to the collective sound.
EVE is female-led and open to everyone. It brings people together across backgrounds and abilities, creating collaborative focus and building steady momentum towards a shared outcome.
Accessibility is integral to the concept and embedded within the technical design of every event. Production standards include live BSL interpretation, captioning, clear lyric projection screens, accessible venue layouts and printed materials available in alternative formats such as braille where required.
Why Jennifer John?
Enormous Vocal Ensemble is created and directed by award-winning composer and vocal arranger Jennifer John, founder of the internationally respected vocal ensemble Sense of Sound.
Her career of touring, recording and large-scale vocal direction spans more than three decades. She has secured collaborations with Brooke Combe, Elijah Hewson of Inhaler, Alex Spencer, Jamie Webster, Andy McCluskey of OMD, Natasha Hamilton, Hannah Peel and Dave McCabe of The Zutons, alongside broadcast platforms including The Voice UK and The Voice Kids (BBC/ITV).
She has directed vocal experiences ranging from intimate spaces to arenas of 5,000 participants. Supported by a strong creative team of experienced singing leaders and ensemble members, EVE maintains clarity, discipline and musical focus at significant scale. Nothing about the format limits its ambition.
The EVE model was piloted in collaboration with Joan As Police Woman, proving the artistic integrity and participatory power of the concept in a live professional setting.
EVE is the culmination of Jennifer’s compositional expertise, live direction and lifelong commitment to the transformative impact of collective voices.
Scale & Global Potential
EVE operates powerfully in mid-scale theatres of 400–800 capacity while retaining the structural integrity required for larger venues of up to 5,000 participants.
It is a strong standalone event. The element of surprise, the live transformation of the ensemble, and the shared experience between Jennifer, the guest artist and the ensemble create a complete and powerful performance in a single event.
At the same time, the format is designed to be repeatable and expansive. Its architecture is clear. Its leadership structure is defined. Its accessibility framework is embedded from the outset. Collective voices can scale without losing quality.
EVE is also suitable for national touring, international commissioning and global adaptation under defined artistic and accessibility standards.
It is both intimate and expansive. Local and global.
